How does personal coaching work?
I specialize in working with bereaved moms who are exhausted and struggling to get healthy. I get it because I’ve been there (and am STILL there some days!). At the end of the day, there’s no time and no energy it seems.
The focus is to get you FEELING BETTER.
To start with, I’d like to chat with you to determine if I am the right health coach for you. I believe to work well together, there needs to be a foundation of trust, understanding, and compatibility – just like any good relationship. This is my free consultation and we simply get to know one another better and determine what your needs are.
Since your health is determined mostly by diet, I like to start there. I ask clients to provide me with a 3-day food diary so that I can get a clear idea of hunger patterns, taste preferences, and lifestyle choices. It makes sense to work WITH your body’s natural rhythms and hunger patterns than against them. From there I will create a personalized nutritional plan that fits your preferences and lifestyle and that of your family’s as much as possible.
I recognize that child loss is devastating and your grief makes everything harder, but I truly believe that self-care is the foundation to healing.
Accountability. Once we get you going on your plan, I like to meet weekly or bi-weekly to weigh you and talk about your success, challenges and areas you’d like to focus on in the coming weeks. I believe in a holistic approach that encompasses mindset, confidence and overcoming barriers. There are always curves in the road and we never know when the next one is coming. Long term success comes from knowing HOW to handle and dodge those curves.
A nutrition plan with added accountability will:
- Increase your energy and get you feeling stronger and better able to cope
- Build a foundation to better handle your grief
- Help you take care of YOU, so you can take care of others
- Dietary review and nutrition plan creation
- 3 follow up appointments where we will review wins, challenges and goals (30 min each) *these can be weekly over bi-weekly*
- Recipes and suggested FLEXIBLE eating plan
